I purchased a wire wrapped bracelet about 15 years ago. Creating jewelry by bending and twisting wires without soldering fascinated me. It wasn't until 10 years later that I noticed a wire wrapping class in the community education program at one of the local high schools . I decided to sign up. The first night of class I knew this was for me. I made a simple 4 wire bracelet and was HOOKED.
I continued honing my skills in wire wrapping, then branched out to precious metal clay, silversmithing, and lampwork beads. But the majority of my pieces are wire wrapped.
I am very fortunate to be married to a wonderful man that has helped me to acheive my goals. He has joined me in this endeavor by learning to cab stones. Many of the beautiful stones that I use in my pieces are his.
I've come full circle and am now teaching at one of the local high schools in the community education program as well as several beads stores in the area. I'm a regular at The Down The Street Bead Show as their wire wrapping instructor. I continue to work full time in my accounting position, but will always take the time to make something beautiful.
