About Twists n Turns

I have dabbled in crafts since I was a little girl watching my Mother and Grandmother create beautiful things from cloth, wood, paint, yarn or whatever they could find.  I have some of the most beautiful Christmas ornaments ever!

I really became seriously hooked on creating when I took my first wire wrap design class in 2002.  Love at first wrap!  It wasn't long before I wanted to advance my skills by taking a week long course at William Holland Lapidary school, but I didn't want to go alone.  I talked my husband, Ed, into taking a Gem and Mineral ID course.  He went on a field trip each day to mines and streams and came back with a bucket full of treasures.  That really was the beginning of our creative journey together, Ed making beautiful cabochons and me wire wrapping jewelry.

A couple of years later at one of our many craft shows, we met a lady that wanted to learn to make wire wrapped jewelry.  I told her that I could teach her in her home.  Well she invited a few friends, one of which owned a bead store, and I began teaching classes at several local bead stores in my area.  Then we found bead shows............

That was close to 20 years ago and we now travel as far as Tucson, Az for the annual gem show, Milwaukee, WI for Bead and Button and Philadelphia, PA for Bead Fest.  When the pandemic hit and closed all of my scheduled shows, I had to find another way to teach.  I now teach online classes via Zoom.  I love being able to engage with all of my students throughout the year.  I still keep my classes small so that I can help each student as necessary throughout class.
